INTERACTIVE GREEN HOUSE
Completed during my fourth year at Toronto Metropolitan University, this greenhouse retail project is rooted in the concept of biophilia, the human instinct to connect with nature. Designed in response to the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the space offers both self-care products and a sense of healing. Located within a dense urban environment where access to nature is limited, the project creates an opportunity for city dwellers to reconnect with the natural world.
Natural materials like wood, stone, water, and plants are integrated to evoke an outdoor atmosphere, stimulating senses of sight, smell, sound and touch. With fresh air circulation, plentiful natural lighting, and raw finishes, the space is designed to foster a sense of calm and well being.
