LIMINAL SPACES

Derived from the Latin limen (threshold), this project explores liminal space as a continuous sequence of transitions of staircases and platforms and by eliminating conventional gathering areas. By removing defined destinations, the design focuses on movement, ambiguity, and spatial layering to heighten awareness and evoke the unease of being in-between.

The occupant feels naturally inclined to move forward, drawn through the space by subtle shifts in form and flow. They begin grounded by structured modules, but as they ascend, the architecture gradually destabilizes, invoking a sense of weightlessness and the surreal feeling of floating away.
